Mayhew Recalled As Wild Seek First Win |

Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbors to the North!!!
A rare Monday afternoon start for the Wild in Ottawa may be just what the Wild need to get things turned around.
Four straight losses to start the season have the Wild in dire straits.
Gerry Mayhew has been recalled after nearly making the squad out of camp. Mayhew has been brilliant in Iowa starting the season with three goals and three assists in four games.
Of course we don't expect Mayhew to all of a sudden make the Wild into an offensive juggernaut, though his presence should at the very least light a fire under the veterans that have been sleep walking through the first four games.
Things must change and in a hurry for the Wild. Mayhew getting into the lineup is a small step.
Ottawa is coming off their first win of the young season saturday when they surprised the visiting Lightnig 4-2. The Senators had dropped their first three games before their improbable win over last season's Presidents Trophy winner.
There are many question marks for the Wild which will not be answered in any single game. That said this team needs to sharpen their game if they expect to compete.
The lazy penalties are killing them. Their inability to handle passes combined with their lack of puck support have all contributed to the dismal start to the season.
Attention to detail which was always a Wild staple is almost nonexistent.
We will see what adjustments Boudreau and the Wild make as they face the Senators this afternoon. It has already become an uphill battle for the Wild, today the opponent, sadly, should be closer to their level.
It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
