Craig MacTavish and his tenure as a KHL head coach didn't last - after just eight regular-season games he has been let go by Lokomotive Yaroslavl team.

He managed to coach his team to only six points in eight games which is just not enough for his squad that was built to compete for the Gagarin Cup.

He was let go after a do or die game between Loko and Jokerit Helsinki squad. Word out there was that either MacTavish or Jokerit's Lauri Marjamäki would get axed if their team lost the game.

Lokomotive will now have to crawl out of a hole and jump on the running playoff train as they're now tied for the last place in West.
