Quick Hits: September 19, 2019

1) The Flyers made eight roster cuts on Tuesday. The team reassigned defensemen Egor Zamula (Calgary, WHL), Wyatte Wylie (Everett, WHL), and Mason Millman (Saginaw, OHL) to their respective CHL teams, along with right winger Egor Serdyuk (Victoriaville, QMJHL). The CHL regular seasons begin this weekend.

Additionally, the Flyers released defenseman Sean Comrie and forwards Max Golod, Ben McCartney (who, unfortunately, was not able to practice at camp apart from rehab work due to a hip flexor), and Mika Cyr from their amateur tryouts.

The Flyers camp roster now stands at 54 players. The next round of cuts -- the first involving players slated to join the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms -- will come over the weekend.

2) On the Flyers' official website on Thursday morning, we will take a look at the catch-up plan for Travis Konecny this week. He is slated to get in three practices before playing for the first time in the exhibition season. He had a video session on Wednesday in addition to skating with the injury-rehab players.

3) Morgan Frost (groin, day-to-day) skated on Wednesday for the first time since Sunday's practice. Other players to take part on the ice on Wednesday, in addition to Konecny, included Nolan Patrick and Gerry Fitzgerald. Samuel Morin, who is healthy, put in some extra work as well with skills coach Angelo Ricci.

4) The new edition of the Bundy and Bill podcast on Flyers Radio 24/7 is now available for download. In this edition, Chris Therien and I discuss the Flyers preseason to date and look at how the roster battles are shaping up so far in camp. Click here.

5) Sept. 19 Flyers Alumni birthdays: Scott Daniels (1969), Gilbert Dionne (1970), Josh Gratton (1982) and Joni Pitkänen (1983). Additionally, current Flyers center Nolan Patrick celebrates his
21st birthday today.
