Over the weekend there was some hope that a bridge deal could be close and now I am told that this looks like less of a possibility.... a source texted me this morning: "The Islanders and Canadiens trade talks are going to continue and are likely to either fizzle or come to fruition in the next 2-3 days...Both teams would be giving up a lot and neither team wants their camp disrupted.

It really sounds like there is a deal to be made. Both sides have dug in for sure, but the gap isn't that far to risk the Flames continuing their strong season from a season ago...It sounds like Tkachuk's deal could be a three-year deal very similar to Werenski's and McAvoy's deal....
On Konecny...
I am hearing today is a very big day in the Konecny talks...Travis is likely to be a three-year deal as well and that may work for both sides here...Konecny's side knows he needs to get into camp with Frost and Farabee looking ready....Frost won't play in the preseason game tonight after suffering an injury...no details yet...But with a new coach in Philly, Konecny's spot with Giroux and Couturier is VERY much in jeopardy.
