The San Jose Sharks chose not to bring back veteran Patrick Marleau after two years in Toronto, but have re-signed center Joe Thornton to a one-year, $2 Million contract. Thornton, 40, had 51 points in the regular season and 10 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and still effective in spite of losing more than a step.
Jake Gardiner has finally found a home, signing a four-year, $16.2 Million deal with Carolina.
