The New York Islanders have signed free agent forward Derick Brassard to a one-year deal worth $1.2M.

Brassard, 31, had just 23 points in 70 games last year, splitting time between the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers and Colorado Avalanche, though he's usually good for producing 40+ points per year. He fits well as the Islanders' likely third-line center behind Mathew Barzal and Brock Nelson. The Islanders will become the fifth team Brassard has played for since February 2018.

A full analysis of the signing will be out tomorrow!
