KHL pre-season is well underway. Some exhibition games have been played as well - with one of them taking extra long to finish.

Dinamo Riga(KHL) hosted Neftyanik(VHL) for a pre-season battle.

The game ended tied 1:1 after three periods after goals from Jakub Berglund and Maxim Salahov. OT decided nothing so it was time for a shootout... which turned out to be longer than expected.

Second attempts went in for both sides and then fans had to wait up until 13th round when Uvis Balinskis gave Riga a lead after a great goal... and then the guests tied it again.

19 rounds and 38 attempts - that's what it took to determine the winner. Maxim Salahov struck again giving VHL team the victory with a score of 1:2.

If this was an official game - the record for the longest shootout in the KHL would be broken. Current one stands at 36 shots in a game between - (Yeah I know) Dinamo Riga and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl on October in 2016.
