Part two of the Vegas Golden Knights' salary dump has come, this time in the form of defenseman Colin Miller. Miller was traded on Friday morning, to the Buffalo Sabres, in exchange for a 2021 second round draft pick and a 2022 fifth round draft pick.
Pending trade call, BUF will send 2nd round pick in 2021 and 5th round pick in 2022 to VGK for defenceman Colin Miller.
Buffalo gets a right-handed shooting defenseman with a high ceiling while the Golden Knights get $3.875 million worth of cap relief. For whatever reason, Miller seemed to sporadically fall into Gerard Gallant's dog house, ending up as a healthy scratch, including for the first game of the 2018-19 playoffs.

During his time in Vegas, Miller experienced highs and lows. He put up great offensive numbers in his two seasons and even filled in as the de facto number one defenseman during Nate Schmidt's 20-game suspension to start this past season. Like all defensemen, he has his strengths and weaknesses, but the Sabres now have a defenseman who can provide a ton of value, locked in at that $3.875 cap hit through the 2021-22 season.
Vegas is not done making moves as they are still over the $81.5 million salary cap and have multiple RFAs still without contracts. Stay tuned!
