The second annual Hockey Buzz Mock Draft continues. Jack Hughes went first to New Jersey, Kappo Kakko was selected by the Rangers and Bowen Byram landed with Chicago. Following a trade with Colorado, Buffalo selected Alex Turcotte while Los Angeles tabbed Cole Caufield and Detroit’s went with Vasili Podkolzin. Colorado traded the 7th pick to New York, who picked Trevor Zegras while Edmonton's selected Dylan Cozens. Anaheim traded their pick to Florida, who took Kirby Dach, and Vancouver dealt their pick top Colorado with the Avalanche taking Matthew Boldy. Philly selected Philip Broberg, Minnesota grabbed Philip Tomasino and Anaheim tabbed Peyton Krebs. Arizona’s took Victor Soderstrom, Montreal selected Cam York, Vancouver’s went with Moritz Seider and Vegas grabbed Alex Newhook. Dallas selected Arthur Kaliyev while Ottawa’s picked Bobby Brink. Winnipeg's went with Ryan Suzuki while Pittsburgh traded their pick to Ottawa, who selected Thomas Harley. LA dealt their pick to Carolina, who selected Raphael Lavoie and the Islanders took Nils Hoglander. Nashville went with Ville Heinola, Washington grabbed Spencer Knight, Calgary selected Albin Grewe and Tampa nabbed Brett Leason. Los Angeles' and Columbus’ picks are below.

Overall Rules and Process:
After the pick or trade is made, a poll will be posted to rate the selection or deal. If the majority of people like the pick or trade, that selection stands and it moves on to the next team’s picks. If not, the majority rules and that’s what happens with that team and pick. I have the last right of refusal to keep everything on the up and up and avoid ballot box stuffing. My request to you is that you take this serious and not make a mockery of the mock draft, because that would be an insult to the others who are participating and makes the whole process a sham. But by playing this out, we get to have healthy debate and conversation to remain engaged up and possibly beyond the draft. If teams make deals and they occur before a team’s selection is due, that deal will play a part as to when each person’s selection occurs.
Here how this is working: each evening (for now, one pick per day, but we will go to two when we get to second half of the mock draft and possibly even before that, so that we complete on time) the team’s selector emails me their pick and rationale for that selection to [email protected]. If making a trade, the same applies, and all the selectors have been listed below along with their screen name if from this site or their twitter handle if external to help facilitate making trades. I am posting that pick and rationale on the site and create a voting poll. For now, we are using just a yes or no vote for the poll, but if people want me to list other options for the selection at that pick number in cases of a no vote, I am happy to do so, to help make it more robust.

Rationale for the selection:
I wanted to get LA some goal scoring in their pipeline. Caufield is the best one in the class, and Afanasayev can score as well. I wanted wingers on both sides, so I’ve accomplished that also. I’m happy with what I did for LA, and getting an additional 2nd rounder was a bonus.

Florida trades pick 29th overall, Edmonton's 3rd rounder (69th) overall and James Reimer to Columbus for the UFA rights to Matt Duchene and Sergei Bobrovsky
Rationale for the trade:
The rationale for Columbus is that they realize they are losing Duchene and Bobrovsky and can live with two years of Reimer, from Florida's point of view, they want to get a jump start on Duchene and Bob and also get rid of Reimer’s deal. Giving up the first rounder makes it palatable from both sides.

Plays center and wing. Great speed and shot. What’s not to like..

On Saturday, June 22nd (12pm-9pm) Kevin Shattenkirk & Anders Lee Will Co-Host Rooftop “Jamathon” Event With Teammates To Benefit The Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation
WHAT: Crosstown professional hockey rivals—New York Rangers’ Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk and New York Islanders’ Captain Anders Lee—will join forces off the ice to help raise money for kids with cancer, co-hosting an afternoon of frisbee-throwing fun during the first annual “Renny Jam” Kan Jam Jamathon to benefit the Jam Kancer in the Kan Foundation. Since 2017, Jambassadors Shattenkirk & Lee have raised more than $600,000 combined for New York-area families affected by cancer.
“Renny Jam” will be held on the longest Saturday of the summer, June 22nd (12pm – 9pm) at the Versa rooftop at the Renaissance Hotel in Midtown NYC, where the two NHL star rivals will be joined by teammates and fans, as well as kids and families who’ve been personally affected by cancer, in facing off against this terrible disease. Proceeds from the “Jamathon” will benefit The Jam Kancer In The Kan Foundation, who will grant wishes to local kids affected by cancer via their partnership with the Marty Lyons Foundation.
In addition to mixing & mingling with the event’s pro-athlete guests, each of the Jamathon’s 2-player fundraising teams will receive a #RennyJam gift bag, a commemorative "Jamathon" participant shirt, complimentary food & beverage items, and the chance to earn additional prizes—from event merchandise and hotel accommodations, to game tickets, signed memorabilia and more.
Jamathon Format: 9 hours. 36 teams. 2 people per team. 1 goal.
Four 2-player fundraising teams compete during each 1-hour slot (from 12pm-9pm) in a round robin Kan Jam event.
