After spending a day here I can report that there is a ton of smoke regarding many teams and that the Jets are in the thick of it. Before diving into the hazy details let's consider a few realities right now- Vancouver is a mosh pit of rumors because everyone is here and GMs are all in meetings now.

The NHL has put on a class effort and it's truly an amazing experience to be a part of this and see how much comes together to make the Draft the event it is. Take it from me- there is talk everywhere and so much to it is hard to place into context because there is so much.

Finally, it's very fun to meet people in person who you have only interacted online with. It's a fun cool camaraderie that is hard to explain.

There is a lot of smoke regarding the Flyers and Jets and it appears these rumors of Ehlers being available are more than just rumors, there is some reality behind them. What comes back is probably obvious in terms of want/need from the Jets, a RHD defenseman with term. Take your guesses, but that seems the logical path based on the noise.

One other rumor that seems to have some legs to it is talk between the Jets and the Leafs. I'm not sure what the details are but there is certainly speculation around two player names in Kadri and Lowry. Is that a direct swap- probably not but let's not forget Kadri has an NTC and Winnipeg is on his no-fly zone.

The other news out there is that Tyson Barrie is available and one could speculate that the Jets might be in on him but there is no contract certainty there as he is a UFA next year. The other name that pops up with a bunch of teams is Colin Miller from the Golden Knights. He's a player with term that seems to be an obvious one for the contract-strapped Knights might have to move. There is no shortage of suitors.

It's going to be fun and I hope you can follow along here and with the hashtag #NHLDraft2019journey
