Boston Bruins Sign Fraser Minten to Seven-Year Contract Extension

The Boston Bruins have officially locked up their future second line center Fraser Minten by signing the forward to a seven year contract extension. The new deal will keep Minten in Boston through the 2033-34 NHL season and carries an average annual value of $7.2 million against the salary cap. The total value of the deal is $50.4 million over the seven years. .

Acquired by the Bruins in March 2025 as part of the trade that sent defenseman Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Minten has quickly established himself as a critical piece of the future in Boston. Originally drafted 38th overall by Toronto in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, the young center thrived during his first full NHL campaign last year.

Minten played in all 82 games with the Bruins last season and posted impressive numbers. He scored 17 goals and added 18 assists for a total of 35 points. His goal total tied him for fifth on the team, while his 35 points marked the highest offensive output by a Bruins rookie since the 2017-18 season.

By securing Minten to a long-term deal, the Bruins have solidified their center depth and ensured one of their top young players remains cost controlled and a member of the franchise for the better part of the next decade.
