You wouldn't expect to see the save of the night coming from a game that finished up 7-5. Then again, you wouldn't expect the save of the night to be delivered by a forward.
Both aspects of this equation came to be true on the opening night of the IIHF World Junior Championship as Canada downed Czechia 7-5.

With Canada threatening the Czech goal, Czechia forward Max Curran stepped in behind his netminder Michal Orsulak, and, standing on the goal line, used his body to block a shot by Canada's Tij Iginla. Then Curran was able to push the puck behind the Czech goal and to safety.
A Colorado Avalanche draftee, Curran was born in Prague, but gets his last name from his dad, who is from Ireland. He plays in the WHL with the Edmonton Oil Kings.
