Let's face it, there's no such thing as a bad goalie fight. Every one of them has a life of its own. You never forget seeing your first goalie fight, and you'll never stop telling your friends all about it.
Still, there are goalie fights, and then there are goalie fights. And when it comes to tendies chucking knuckles, you'll go a long time before witnessing a more intense tilt than the one that unfolded on the weekend in the USHL. To employ a baseball analogy, this one touched all the bases.
As a line brawl erupted in a game between the Green Bay Gamblers and Sioux City Musketeers, opposing netminders Leo Henriquez, 18, of Green Bay, and Ryder Shea, 19, of Sioux City, doffed their mitts and helmets and squared off at center ice. As hockey fights go, calling this goalie bout epic might be selling the performance short.
