A Message to the HockeyBuzz Community
Hey everyone,
First off — thank you! HockeyBuzz has been around for nearly 20 years, and that’s all because of you — our loyal, passionate, hockey-loving community. You’ve helped us grow into one of the largest independent, completely original hockey content sites in the world, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
A couple of months ago, we made a big change — moving to a brand-new format. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was necessary. The old site was breaking down on us and limiting what we could do. The good news is that this new system gives us the flexibility to innovate and make improvements much faster — just like we used to back in the early days.
Of course, with change comes a little discomfort, and we totally get that. Many of you told us that the new Reddit-style message boards just didn’t feel like “home,” so… good news! We’re bringing back our classic HockeyBuzz message board system that so many of you loved.
A better, more comfortable place for you all to tell me why a rumor won't happen or that I, Eklund, out of my mind! (e5)
But seriously, we had to change so we could fix some glitches.. also fixed some of the glitches...little things like users being accidentally banned for life or comments disappearing should now be a thing of the past. You can understand why. stability has been a big focus for us, and we’re finally in a place where we can confidently move forward and focus on what really matters: building the site you want.
We’re already working on some exciting updates — including a brand-new version of the Rumor Chart (yes, it’s coming back better than ever!) and continuing our HockeyBuzz Season Ticket, which gives subscribers an ad-free experience across the entire site.
But now, we want, and NEED, to hear your ideas.
What would you love to see on HockeyBuzz as we move into this next chapter? New features? Site tweaks? Content ideas? You can share your thoughts right here in the comments, or if you’d prefer to reach out directly, email me at eklund@hockeybuzz.com — just put “Website Idea” in the subject line so I can find it easily.
You and this community means everything to us. Many of our new, young, and passionate writers grew up reading HockeyBuzz — and we’re all incredibly excited to continue building something special with you.
Thanks again for sticking with us through this transition. HockeyBuzz has always been about fans talking hockey — and together, we’re ready to make this the best version yet.
Let’s keep the conversation going,
Eklund and the HockeyBuzz Team
