Streaking Devils Look To Down Avalanche For Ninth Straight Win (nHL News)

Dreamworks

Winners of eight in a row, the Devils will look to avoid saying, "Honey, do you think KFC's still open?" and keep the streaking alive in Colorado tonight. After a thrilling 4-3 OT victory versus the Avs in NJ on Sunday, the Devils move through the quad and into gymnasium to face Nathan MacKinnon the Avalanche for the second straight game. It will be yet another big test in this young NHL season for NJ who will now be without Defenseman Brett Pesce for the foreseen future. Expect Seamus Casey to draw into the lineup in place of #22.

Speaking of tests, the Devils have passed almost all(game one vs Carolina) with flying colors so far this campaign. Even in the last few games where NJ didn't seem to be as sharp at times, they still found a way to win, the Hallmark of all good teams. Eventually they'll have to lose again, and unfortunately I feel like tonight is the night. How confident are you in the Devils extending the streak past eight?

Quick Hits

Seamus Casey Opportunity

With Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec excelling thus far, Seamus Casey is getting an opportunity here to make Sheldon Keefe's decisions a little tougher. It will take a lot for Casey to make himself worthy  to draw in once this core is healthy again, but nonetheless a great opportunity to showcase his growth here.

Markstrom Returns

Nico Daws was excellent in his one start, but back to Utica he goes as Jacob Markstrom rejoins the club. Is there a contract extension nearing for #25? Some think it will happen sooner than later.

Old School

If you were lost/confused by my opening, please go watch the movie "Old School" starring Will Ferrell. This film premiering was the second best thing to happen in 2003.
