Detroit and Ottawa scouting Erik Karlsson, Sabres "Major Move" Adrian Kempe?
I began working on the Rumor Chart this past weekend, and in making calls I can across some interesting Rumors...
First Erik Karlsson...
Don't look now, but the Penguins are competitive.... And let this be a lesson to us all because of course Sidney Crosby should never be bet against... the feeling is that as long as the Penguins are in the hunt, Erik Karlsson won't be going anywhere... so I talked to a few people in and around the situation to see if that was true and turns out.... ' it is only kind of partially true.. '.
If the Penguins are competitive and in the playoff hunt, I'm told it definitely makes him more expensive for another team to go after, but team performance is not the only factor right now as to whether or not they would move him or keep him. At this point Ottawa and Detroit have both been scouting EK67 pretty heavily...something my source in Pittsburgh was quick to point out.....
Major Move Coming to Buffalo...(e4)
This might be the most interesting thing happening this week. The Sabres are dangling some "very game-changing players, including 2 top 4 D, in their attempt to bring in "speed, skill, and scoring" to their top 6. The team they are talking the most to is Buffalo and it is believed Adrian Kempe is VERY much part of these discussions...The Kings have been one of the best defensive teams in the past few seasons, but losing Gavrikov has turned into a much bigger deal than anticipated. They currently sit middle of the pack defensively, and they simply don't have the firepower to outscore teams...
