Will Canadiens' Lane Hutson Be Better Than Canucks' Luke Hughes?

Tonight the two best American born defensemen currently. Laine Hutson and Quinn Hughes will face off against each other.  Quinn is 5 years older than Laine, but there is no question the two play similar games, and both are on the small side at 5'10"

On Quinn Hughes:

Offensive star already established, somewhat smaller frame but elite mobility and offensive instincts; very valuable today.

On Lane Hutson:

Was a rookie phenom, and is off to elite start offensively, smaller size and less experience mean more question marks, but very high upside for the future.

Analysis..

Hughes is a “safe high ceiling” asset: great offensive upside, known quantity, likely to produce for years. Hutson is a “boom or bust” type in the sense that the upside is extremely high (for a defenseman his age, he’s already breaking records), but there are more unknowns—especially in his defensive maturity, physical adaptation, and ability to sustain at high level. If you had to pick one for immediate impact, Hughes brings it. If you’re projecting future dynasty value, Hutson might edge out if he rounds out his game.

Is Lane Hutson going to be better?
