Ville Leino Invited to Bruins Camp; Carcillo to Pens; Friday's Webcast (nhl rumors)

Some invite news to start with today..

Two former Flyers with Camp invites today.

Ville Leino has been invited to the Boston Bruins training camp and Dan Carcillo is attending the Penguins Camp on a tryout contract.

I really like both of these moves and both these plays had multiple invites so it will be interesting to see where they do in fact end up.

Leino will compete with yet another former Flyer Simon Gagne for the spot vacated by Iginla, and Ville is a very skilled player who is much better when he is on the Wing and playing with skilled players. I know the Flyers also had interest and I was told the possibility is still there that Leino could be signed by a team and never report to the tryout for the Bruins.

Carcillo is a nice insurance policy should Steve Downie, yet ANOTHER former Flyer, not be able to make the impact the Penguins are hoping for. Having watched Downie last year I have real concerns about his health and am very afraid he rushed back from too many concussions in his time.

Since Carcillo left Philly, and some would argue even when he was in Philly, he has been a Flyer killer and played a major role in the Rangers' 7 game elimination of the Flyers. I honestly feel the Rangers should have played Carcillo more in the Final against the Kings when his suspension had ended. I hope "Carbomb" ends up sticking with the Penguins if for no other reason it is just yet another level to the Flyers/Penguins rivalry...which I would argue is the best in the sport.

Stay tuned today because a little birdy tells me we could have more player news today.
