UPDATE
The Pittsburgh Penguins have relieved Ray Shero from his duties as General Manager of the hockey team.
Jason Botterill will serve as interim GM and will also be one of the candidates moving forward to replace Shero.
Coach Dan Bylsma was NOT fired, yet.
The new GM will have total control over hockey operations and part of that control includes choosing the head coach.
As I have stated before I am not against the firing of Shero or Bylsma, but the Penguins need to replace them with people that understand the modern game.
I will have a blog in the near future that breaks down these decisions further.
Here are the results from yesterday's poll:
Congrats to the 4% on being correct! For now.

If true this is a monumental shake up for the Penguins.
Both men will not be unemployed long, they are not bad at their jobs. Sometimes you just need a new vision and leadership in professional sports and that time has come in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins need to be careful moving forward. Firing for the sake of firing is bad business.
It would be in the Penguins best interests if they fully embraced advanced statistics and rid themselves of the potential of ever being stuck with players like Craig Adams, Tanner Glass, and Rob Scuderi again.
I will have a more in depth blog later.
Thanks for reading!
