I was having fun with Twas The Night Before Christmas Oilers edition too much and it got away from me. Now its way too far along to turf but still half done. Its a perfect analogy for any house project I have ever started. I love Christmas, always have. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. Naturally CC Moore's classic Christmas poem is perfect just the way it is, but here's me ruining part of it!
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a Schultz The stockings were hung by the chimney with care In hopes that St Gretz soon would be there
The Nuge was nestled all snug in his bed While visions of Gagner scoring 8 danced in his head And Lowe in his kerchief, and MacT in his cap Had just settled that this rebuild at least one more winter would last
When out on the ice arose such a clatter MacT sprung from the bed faster than a Smytty Clapper Away to the window Craig flew like a flash Tore past the sweaters and threw up the sash
The spotlight on the breast of the newly sprayed snow Gave the lustre of a new draft pick to the objects below When what to MacT's wondering eyes did appear to us But a miniature sleigh and 8 former boys on the bus
With a classy old driver, so lively and well dressed I knew in a moment it must be St Gretz Faster than Coffey his coursers they came And he fist pumped, and shouted, and called them by name
Now Messier, now Kurri, now Gregg and now Huddy On Lacombe, on Fuhr, on Muni, and on McSorley To the top of the circles, to the top of the side-wall Now dash away, dash away, dash away like a streaking Hall
