First off, I'd like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all of those who celebrate it.
The Sabres lost a great, young forward today after Corey Tropp was claimed off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets. He hasn't played much over the past couple of years and when he has, there hasn't been many points.
Buffalo was trying to get him down to Rochester, where he would be able to get much more playing time, but the plan has backfired.
As for Corey Tropp, who the Sabres hope clears waivers, Nolan told the media why Buffalo wanted to send him to Rochester after last night's game.
“Corey didn’t play a lot last year,… Nolan said. “And we can’t develop our younger players with them playing 5-6 minutes on the 4th line. We need to stay on our toes because this could happen to anybody.…
I'm going to miss Tropp. I was looking forward to seeing what he would become on this team, but the organization messed up on that one. Have to wonder why John Scott wasn't waived instead.
Nothing the Sabres can do about it now except be more careful about it next time.
