After many agonizing months of speculation, the Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks finally have a location for the 2015 Winter Classic:
Nationals Park in Washington, DC!
OK, so it's not that exciting because everyone already figured it would be there anyway, but what is exciting is the fact that a deal was finally reached - apparently.
There hasn't been an official announcement, and sources are saying that the league may wait until the end of the month. I'm sure there are still kinks to iron out on both ends, and I'm wondering if this information was "leaked" in order to create some excitement again about the New Year's Day game.
Whatever the case, it's nice to hear something - I was beginning to wonder if they were ever going to pick a spot.
Nat's Stadium will be a cool atmosphere - it's design was based on Camden Yards in Baltimore - Plus, the cityscape of DC is quite a sight and to have it showcased in an arena that isn't political will be breath of fresh air.
More to come when an official announcement is made.
