The Future Looks Bright - 4 Ducks in NHL.com Top 60 Prospects (Ducks)

NHL.com came out with their Top 60 prospects ranking today. The Ducks placed four players on the list which tied Washington for the most players, Here is a quick composite along with a quote from the article about each player:

#2 John Gibson, Goalie Gibson the Ducks netminding wonderkind narrowly lost out to Jonathan Drouin of the Lightning for the top spot. He was one of two goalies in the top 40 and even received two first place votes.

"He projects out as a premier No. 1 goalie at the NHL level and that is always a good place to start when building a depth chart," Scout B said.

#35 Nick Ritchie, Left Wing Ritchie, the Ducks top draft choice in June has the scouts attention. He is 6' 2…, 226 lbs and only 18 years old, so he's going to grow.

“Ducks director of player development Todd Marchant said Ritchie has "an NHL shot right now."

#40 Rickard Rackell, Center The Ducks gave the 21 year old Swede a look last year and he scored four points in 18 games. He has a legit shot to make the team this year.

“The team would like to see him improve on his 49.0 faceoff percentage from last season but like his vision and strength. “

#50 Shea Theodore, Defense Theodore, the 2013 first round pick, led all WHL defensemen with 79 points last season. It is not hard to image the Ducks suiting up four young talented defensemen in 2015 with Theodore, Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen.
