Team Canada, headed by Executive Director Steve Yzerman will be announcing the 25 man roster for the upcoming Sochi Olympics in Toronto this morning at 11am.
This will not be the final word on the roster that hopes win a second straight gold medal for Canada, as three key players have injury concerns that could prevent them from making the trek to Southern Russia next month.
San Jose forward Logan Couture had surgery performed on his hand that will keep him out three to four weeks, goaltender Roberto Luongo has been injured two times in the last few weeks and superstar Steven Stamkos is slowly healing from a broken leg.
Areas of much debate that will finally be determined are the third goalie behind Luongo and Carey Price. Will it be Corey Crawford, Mike Smith or a longshot like Josh Harding or Jonathan Bernier?
Will 2010 veterans Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, Dan Boyle or Brent Seabrook get another shot at a gold medal or will they be replaced by younger players like Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, PK Subban or Mark-Edouard Vlasic??
