Follow @james_tanner123 Last night the Coyotes lost 5-1 to the Predators, and there was only one thing to do afterwards: pour another glass of wine and put on some Dean Martin. Cause crooning along with the master is the only way to drown your sorrows when you've stayed up way too late to watch a West Coast game that was, to say the least, disappointing.
"No wonder my happy heart sings, cause your love has given me wings," is what I was singing after the loss, but I didn't mean it. I should have went with this
So I went with Dean and we crooned along in tears and tried to think of some positives.
The team's best player took a dumb unnecessary penalty after a good opening to the game by getting a 1-0 lead and playing well. The Preds scored on the Power-Play and then pretty much took over the game.
Oh that isn't very positive is it?
How about knowing the game is basically over once the Preds score their second goal and make it 2-1, since the Coyotes almost never score 3 goals?
What about this: the team sits only 13 points out of a playoff spot.
Oh wait.....
They are 2-7-1 in their last ten? They've lost the first 3 games of their homestand?
The team seems to have quit on their coach?
They're eliminated from the Playoffs less than a third of the way through the season?
That the GM's best answer has been to waive and send down some bottom of the roster players, and then reverse those moves almost instantly? Well, he did land a warm body for the venerable Klinkhammer....
The most positive thing I can add, if I'm honest, is that there's only 60 something games left until the Playoffs, then just two months after that until the draft.
