The Islanders have sent Ryan Strome to their AHL affiliate; Bridgeport Sound Tigers. With Travis Hamonic not on the IR and Radek Martinek coming off injured reserve the team had to clear a roster space. It appears as this is a temporary move, while Strome was not setting the world on fire he clearly did not look out of place.
If this isn't a temporary move I am frankly puzzled by this. They could have sent Martinek to Bridgeport on a two week conditioning stint. Perhaps this means their are more moves on the horizon but at this point I am speculating. This is NOT a Nià±o situation and I'm positive Ryan Strome will be back but right now I'm just confused by this move. I will reach out and see if I can get more on this story.
