The Plymouth Whalers open their season in two weeks time, but Sonny Milano will have to wait a while longer before making his OHL debut.
Milano suffered two facial fractures in Columbus' win over Minnesota Thursday night at the Traverse City tournament. He'll miss the next eight weeks, according to Aaron Portzline.
Luckily for Milano he's already under contract, so he really didn't have much to prove at the prospect tournament. There's a couple weeks before the OHL regular season opens up, too, so he's going to slash off 1/4 of the recovery time without missing any games of importance.
If Milano heals according to schedule, he's in line for an early-to-mid November return. That sets him up to miss between 15-18 contests of the OHL's 68-game regular season schedule.
