Talks between the San Jose Sharks and three teams in the Eastern Conference continue with a couple of apparent "blockbuster possibilities." There really appears to be some fire to all the smoke here, though I don't know if anything will go down in the next couple days. Stay tuned on that one.
I have now seen Anaheim Ducks defenseman Sami Vatanen play about 20 times and I come away more and more impressed each time. People laughed at me a few years ago when I wrote that Vatanen stood a good chance of being a better player in the long run than the much more highly touted Justin Schultz. Right now, that prediction is looking pretty good.
I'll tell you who I see when I watch Vatanen: I see Kimmo Timonen in his early years in Nashville.
