It’s been a hellish three years for Marc Savard.
His skates haven’t touched NHL ice since Jan. 2011, and while they won’t in 2014-15 either, the 37-year-old pivot is finally returning to the game he loves in some capacity.

Things are getting better for me," Savard said in an interview with TSN 1050 back in May. "I still have some issues, but I can't complain. Life's pretty good. As I’ve written about extensively since everything happen in regards to No. 91’s future, Savard was such a key piece in putting the Boston Bruins back on the NHL map. In five seasons with the Bruins, Savard recorded 74 goals and 305 points in 304 regular season games, along with eight goals and 22 points in 25 playoff games with the Black-and-Gold. He also served as one of the club’s alternate captains, and even scored some of the B’s biggest pre-2011 playoff goals.
