Sabres improving, heading in right direction (Enroth)

Here we are at the beginning of December and it's amazing to see how much things have changed in two months.

Over the past few games, it's been nice to see the Sabres showing signs of improvement, and I'm not just talking about getting into the win column and earning a few points. They are actually starting to compete and play like they want to win. They may not be the best team or dramatically turn the season around, but they are playing better hockey.

The power play looked much better Saturday night against New Jersey. Although they didn't score, they moved the puck around and spent most of the two minutes in the Devils' zone. That's something we haven't seen very often this year.

Buffalo won the first game with Nolan as coach this season, but then went on a five game losing streak. This last week of hockey, they have been playing better. Individually, some of the players are improving, and they don't look lost like they did earlier this year.

I'm not expecting them to turn things around this season, but I enjoy seeing them heading in the right direction. It may not be the best thing for people who want to see them get the 1st round pick next year, but they are playing better.

Jhonas Enroth hasn't played in about two weeks and he made a point to Ted Nolan by his solid performance. There was nothing he could do about the overtime goal. Enroth played well and was a big reason the Sabres earned a point. Now they have an odd four straight days off before the next game.

What do you think of how the team has played over the past week or so? Has Nolan been the main reason for it, and how much better can he make this team?

As always, thank you for reading!
