This season....
Pretty much doesn't get much more even. In the four games each team won a game at home, each won a game on the road. Each won a game 4-3 in a shootout and Pittsburgh beat the Rangers 5-2, while the Rangers beat the Pens 5-1
Last three seasons...
The Penguins hold a 10-5 advantage over the last three seasons scoring 48 goals and only giving up 36. That's over 3 goals per game against the Rangers. Pittsburgh has not had much trouble with King Henry....in fact the Pens have shut the Rangers out in 3 of the last 15.
In the playoffs...
The Pens have owned the Rangers in their previous four playoff encounters. Winning all 4 by an overall total of 16 games to 4.
Prediction:
I think the Penguins will get their game together and regain their confidence in this series...this is the matchup they wanted and in many ways the perfect fit for the Penguins style. That being said...the Penguins never do things the easy way.
