A few notes on last night's loss against Los Angeles:
The Sabres have been playing their best hockey of the season since they have been on this west coast trip. It's only two games but they actually look like an NHL team.
It's weird saying that after a 2-0 loss, but the Sabres could have scored a few times. Jonathan Quick was very lucky he earned a shutout. Quick was out of position numerous times, but Buffalo couldn't connect. Quick made some nice stops, though, as well.
I wish Tyler Myers would be more physical, and I liked seeing him drop the gloves and stand up for McCormick. He didn't win the fight, and he didn't need to. That's something we haven't seen from him. Frattin doesn't deserve a suspension for his hit. It really wasn't that bad. I know some were upset with it, but I didn't have a problem after watching it.
Jhonas Enroth rebounded after a tough outing a few days ago. My confidence in him continues to grow.
Ville Leino finally got his first shot on goal of the season after playing 7 games.
The Sabres have been playing better, but they still have one problem that is the same. Entering the zone on the power play is something that needs to be fixed. They are wasting so much time on failed entries and chasing the puck down into their own zone. Other teams make it look so easy and then watching the Sabres continue their drop passes and 1 on 4 deke attempts, they aren't getting anywhere. The power play would benefit for sure if they could clean up those entries.
Interesting to see Kevin Dineen fired from Florida, along with Craig Ramsay. Just makes you wonder even more how long Rolston keeps his job. With the Sabres playing better recently, that only helps Regier and Rolston.
