The Islanders Western Canadian Road Trip; the Trail of Tears continues tomorrow night as they are in Vancouver to square off with the Canucks. This is some late night hockey as puck drop Monday will be at 10pm. I strongly suggest that you choose sleep.
The Islanders' continue to defy logic as they leave a trail of blown leads through Alberta blowing two, two goal leads against the Oilers and Flames. This is were frustration has truly set in. How can a team continue to play well enough to build leads only to watch them come apart so easily. In my days watching hockey I have not seen many teams this mentally fragile.
Tonight at 9pm I will be a guest on SportsTalk on Long Island's 1240 AM to discuss all things Islanders hockey. Gary Harding and John Panarese are nice enough to have me on to discuss everything from this disappointing season to the utter failure at the trade deadline to what's next for a team that can't get itself out of reverse. The only positives of late with the Isles has been the play of their young kids. Honestly as much of a silver lining guy that I am their is nothing in that playbook to spin this season. However the play of Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Ryan Strome and Calvin deHaan at least give me some hope that all is not totally lost.
