A couple of days ago I postulated that Omark would be a good fit in Buffalo in exchange for a 6th round pick. Tonight that is exactly what went down. From what I've seen the pick is conditional but the Oilers earn a little Karma by giving the tiny Swede his shot at the NHL.
For Sabres fans, you are getting a player with offensive creativity, tenacity, and enough individual talent to keep you on the edge of your seat. You are also getting a player who has yet to translate that ability into NHL success, who plays defense only by accident, and who isnt allowed to ride Space Mountain without an accompanying adult.
For some Oiler fans Omark has been involved in every single armchair GM trade proposal imaginable, sometimes landing the Oilers that big Center they covet, sometimes landing them Shea Weber. Ultimately he gets them a potential 6th round pick...which we will obviously flip for Shea Weber.
