O'Reilly expected to play; Barrie, Holden out; Stollery, Wilson in

It looks like the Avalanche will get Ryan O'Reilly back for tonight's game in Minnesota, but defensemen Tyson Barrie and Nick Holden won't be in the lineup.

Barrie sustained a shoulder injury Friday against the Islanders and Holden was given permission to leave the team to be with his wife, who is due to give birth.

So defenseman Karl Stollery will make his NHL debut after being recalled from Lake Erie in the AHL. Ryan Wilson also was recalled a week earlier than expected to give the Avalanche six defensemen.

Stollery, 26, had five goals, six assists and a plus-5 rating in 29 games with the Monsters. He had five goals and 29 assists in 72 games with Lake Erie last season. Wilson, who on Monday was sent to the Cleveland-based team on what was supposed to be a two-week conditioning assignment, was plus-1 in one game there.

Defenseman Nate Guenin remains sidelined with an ankle injury and forward David Van Der Gulik will be scratched.

O'Reilly missed two games with the shoulder injury he suffered while helping to celebrate a Paul Stastny goal in Monday's loss to Calgary.

How the lineup is expected to look tonight:

FORWARDS Nathan MacKinnon -- Matt Duchene -- Jamie McGinn Gabriel Landeskog -- Paul Stastny -- Ryan O'Reilly Cody McLeod -- John Mitchell -- Max Talbot Brad Malone -- Marc-Andre Cliche -- Patrick Bordeleau

DEFENSE Erik Johnson -- Jan Hejda Andre Benoit -- Cory Sarich Ryan Wilson -- Karl Stollery

GOALIES Semyon Varlamov Jean-Sebastien Giguere
