During today's post Olympics media deal with Captain John Tavares, he said he will NOT need surgery to repair his knee and expects only a rehab of eight weeks. Although Art Staple of Newsday added the "eight to TWELVE" weeks just to be on the safe side.
JT said he had the same injury, on the same knee, in Juniors and responded well to rehab. Guess he forgets he's a tad (and really only a tad) older now.
Still a huge loss, but not having surgery is always a good thing.
And.... with the BPort guys on the ice, Mike Halmo will be wearing #43 for the Isles and was skating with Boulton and Cizikas at practice.
