There's been a lot of talk about Martin Brodeur and whether he'll be traded or not, and it appears quite possible that the future Hall of Famer could be moved by the 3 p.m. (ET) deadline.
TSN's Darren Dreger provided more details via Twitter.
Told Martin Brodeur has submitted a list to Lou Lamoriello of the teams he's willing to waive his NTC to go to. (8-9 teams)....
— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) March 5, 2014...Brodeur is obviously interested in a change and is waiting for the Devils gm to pull the trigger. Another great deadline day story.
— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) March 5, 2014As Dreger pointed out, it's pretty clear that Brodeur would be willing to move on from New Jersey should the right opportunity arise. With the Minnesota Wild - who seemed like the most logical solution and best fit for Brodeur - out of the picture, the key questions right now are a) who wants Brodeur; b) is Lamoriello willing to move him and; c) what could the Devils get for him?
All of those questions will be answered in short order and it'll be real interesting to see how this plays out.
We may never see Brodeur - who is the first guy you think of when talking about the Devils - suit up in a Devils uniform again.
It's a strange world we live in.
