New Jersey Devils: Jaromir Jagr to Play For Czech Republic At Worlds (Devils)

The New Jersey Devils may not be in the post-season, but that's not going to stop Jaromir Jagr from playing competitive hockey.

Jagr played all 82 regular season games as well as in the Olympics for Czech Republic, but apparently he hasn't had enough, and will use the Worlds in order to extend his season.

The 42-year-old is coming off a 24-goal season where he recorded a team-high 67 points, and was a model of consistency when it came to producing offense for the team.

Jagr is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July and, while nothing is done right now, the belief is he'll re-sign with the Devils for at least one more season in the NHL before going to play in Europe.

Jagr will be the only Devil representing Czech Republic at the World Hockey Championships, as Patrik Elias and Marek Zidlicky have declined to participate this season.

He's not the only guy representing the team at the Worlds, though, as Pete DeBoer agreed to join Dave Tippett's staff as an assistant coach for Team Canada.

The tournament begins in less than two weeks, as the fun starts May 9th.
