So, Sabres roughneck Cody McCormick was injured in the third period of Thursday night's 4-1 loss to Philly. McCormick didn't finish the game. Afterwards, coach Ted Nolan said that more would be known about Cody Mc's injury on Friday. The team had the day off on Friday.
Now comes word that D Alex Sulzer is being recalled from Rochester to Buffalo,
#Amerks are loading the bus to Utica. D Alex Sulzer is not getting on the bus...looks as though he is headed to Buffalo to join #Sabres.

The plot thickens.
Sabres president of hockey operations Pat LaFontaine attended the Rochester Amerks game on Friday night along with Sabres head coach Ted Nolan.
In the first period intermission, LaFontaine and Nilan spoke with media.
Kevin Oklobzija of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports that LaFontaine has conducted at least one interview this week for the GM seat that was vacated when Darcy Regier was fired earlier this month.
#Sabres pres. of hockey operations Pat LaFontaine said he has conducted at least one interview with GM candidate. Wouldn't reveal name(s).
— Kevin Oklobzija (@kevinoDandC) November 23, 2013LaFontaine would not give up the name of the candidate with whom he interviewed. It was either Bruins AGM Jim Benning, or, Penguins GM Jason Botterill. How do I know? LaFontaine has only been granted permission to interview Benning and Boterill.
According to LaFontaine, he has added a candidate or candidates to his short list of names.
Its likely that LaFontaine has spoken with Montreal about AGM Rick Dudley and Nashville AGM Paul Fenton, who on Thursday, told reporters in Toronto that he wants to interview for the Buffalo GM job. In fact, Fenton said that his GM David Poile had called the Sabres to endorse his assistant general manager for the Buffalo GM job. There has been nary a whisper surrounding Dudley's name during the past week and a half. To me, this is a "tell" that there is activity between the two teams going on behind the scenes.
Pat LaFontaine also said he has "probably added some candidates" to his original list of potential GMs (read Paul Fenton?).
— Kevin Oklobzija (@kevinoDandC) November 23, 2013I was asked tonight to give my take on who LaFontaine will hire to be the next Buffalo GM.
Here 's my top four, in order:
1. Rick Dudley (pending Montreal permission) 2. Jim Benning (permission granted) 3. Jason Boterill (permission granted) 4. Paul Fenton (pending Buffalo invitation)
U.S. Thanksgiving is this week. LaFontaine and Nolan want to make changes to their roster. Perhaps their new GM will be brought on board in the week to come.
