Kerby Rychel Taking Memorial Cup By Storm (Blue Jackets)

Blue Jackets prospect Kerby Rychel is taking the Memorial Cup by Storm.

After recording 122 points in 78 games (regular season and playoffs) while winning an OHL title with the Guelph Storm, the goal scoring winger hasn't slowed down a bit.

Through two games in the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup, Rychel has scored three goals and tallied in an assist in winning efforts.

The Storm take on the London Knights Thursday, but regardless of the game outcome the Storm will be playing in the Memorial Cup Final Sunday.

Rychel has shown a consistent nose for the net and has been dominant on a shift-to-shift basis. He's consistently generated chances, and with a shot like his, it's no surprise he continues to fill the net.

In 80 games, including the two so far at the Memorial Cup, Rychel has scored 47 goals.

The future looks bright for Rychel, a 1st round pick of the Blue Jackets in 2013, and for a team starving for more goal scoring ability, he should be able to help sooner than later.
