The Blue Jackets have been hit with another dose of bad news, as Boone Jenner has broken his hand, and will reportedly need at least a month to recover.
This news couldn't have come at a worse time, as the team is already without the unsigned Ryan Johansen as well as Nathan Horton, who figures to be out for the foreseeable future.
If Johansen isn't signed by the team's season opener on October 9th, they'll be without three of their top-9 forwards.
That's not exactly a recipe for success, and isn't how they want to start their season coming off the best year in franchise history.

Sticking with Johansen, contract talks between his camp and the Blue Jackets have resumed, according to Aaron Portzline.
Talks between #CBJ and Ryan Johansen's agent, Kurt Overhardt, have resumed. Talks include but not limited to 2-year contract.
— Aaron Portzline (@Aportzline) September 29, 2014While we last heard the two sides were about $1 million per season apart on a two-year deal, that is a gap that could be bridged by the time the regular season begins.
With the way things have been going for Columbus throughout the off-season, that would certainly be welcomed.
