Jaromir Jagr has reached yet another significant milestone in his storied career.
Well two, actually.
Jagr's 2nd period goal - which turned out to the game winner in New Jersey's 6-1 win over New York - marked the 700th of his career, making him the 7th player in NHL history to reach that plateau. Jagr was also the first European to do it, and he's only eight goals behind Mike Gartner for 6th all-time in goals.
Jagr's primary assist on Marek Zidlicky's power play goal was the 1,040th assist of his No. 68's career, which tied him with Marcel Dionne for 9th all-time in assists.
Jagr isn't the only Devil in his 40's who had a big day, though. Martin Brodeur made several big saves in the 1st period and stopped 18-19 pucks that came his way en route to the Devils' second straight win.
Brodeur likely won't start again before the trade deadline, so if this was his last game as a Devil, he certainly made the most of it.
Next up for the Devils, who've scored 11 goals in two games since the Olympic break, is the San Jose Sharks for an afternoon matinee at the Prudential Center on Sunday. Cory Schneider is expected to start.
