There is little doubt this is heating up. Miller rumors are everywhere this morning in an almost calculated way as to drive up value...A source tells me that four teams are looking and right now Buffalo may be able to justify getting a bit less for Miller...by not having to be on the hook for his salary during the Olympics...
But a very little less. The price for Miller is where it should be. Sky High. Teams involved...The Islanders, the Blues, and the Caps...There are many saying another team, which has remained under the radar is involved heavily. Could be the Pens....could be someone else.
The Sabres are going to make these teams work for this though, and I would say there is still a good bet it doesn't get done today or even this week...by February 8th? very possible. By the deadline...all but assured.
Note: A source close to the situation just linked the uptake in Miller talk to the Sabres perhaps doing a little negotiation strategizing here in their inevitable attempt to keep Miller and extend him. Not sure. Everyone you talk to who is close to Ryan says it isn't about money at this point...it is about winning a Stanley Cup. That is priority #1.
On Montreal...
I will have a full update this afternoon along with a more complete rumor chart update....keeping a close eye on some situations developing in Montreal....No specific names yet, but I am told "change is in the air."
