Truly impressive win. I thought the Canadiens could take 1 of the first 2 in Boston, but following 9 days off I would have bet they lose Game 1. Carey Price was just fantastic and when you combine the Olympic performance you can certainly argue this is Price's best season in a career that has not been short on good seasons.
But when you look at the Habs, up and down, they don't look like they should be able to even play with the Bruins. Boston has depth all over the ice and Superstar players at every position. The Habs have a ton of speed, but really depend heavily on a few players coming up big at big times and of course Price is the great eraser of mistakes.
The Bruins have better coaching as well. In my opinion at least...
And yet...they are 5-0 in the playoffs. That is flat out remarkable.
You can say, "It's all Price," but last night the Habs did manage 5 goals against the Bruins.
The fact these teams put up 9 goals in one game was unique given the low scoring contests they played this year. You would think a high scoring game would benefit the Bruins. But somehow the Habs found a way again.
How are they doing it?
Up next...prediction the Rangers/Penguins and Hawks/Wild
