In case you missed it on ESPN this morning.....
Cornell's freshman goaltender Mitch Gillam - in his very first game for the Big Red - scores on a full ice empty netter in a 4-2 win over Niagara last night. Not a bad way to start your NCAA career!!
Besides the goal, my favorite part is his teammates reaction, especially Cole Bardreau (#22), and even more so on twitter after the game.
Only eight college goalies have scored a goal and Gillam is one of three to shoot the puck himself and is the first to do it in his first game. Last NCAA goalie to score was Harvard's Kyle Richter in 2008.
