Hawks Fall in NYC/More Rumors

Sometimes, you just tiop your cap to the other guy. The hawks lost 2-1 to the Rangers at Madison Square Garden last night. They certainly had many chances, but they faced a hot, young goalie in Cam Talbot and a Rangers club that forechecked and backchecked, blocked shots and tied up sticks all night.
If I have any criticism of the hawks’ game it was that they got a little too cute in the offensive zone against a team that was taking away space all night. Sometimes, you just have to dump and chase and go hard to the net. But, when the Hawks have trouble in some games, that’s typically why.
On to rumors.
Not surprisingly, the Hawks are getting a lot of calls about Nick Leddy and Brandon Saad.
While teams can call about either player, Saad, definitely is not being moved. And the Hawks are not actively shopping Leddy.
As rumored earlier, Bryan Bickell is being shopped but only for the right return.
One trading partner the Hawks have had a lot of discussion with is Buffalo, around names like Drew Stafford. They have shown some interest on Matt D'Agostini as a depth forward.
At the deadline, look for the Hawks to possibly a depth defenseman, and a lower line forward.
