No sooner did I say it was all quiet yesterday and I was contacted by a top source about the Hawks’ trade possibilities—and they had the following to say.
In order:
PATRICK SHARP
Has supposedly been shopped extensively. No teams are really coming close to the Hawks’ asking price—so for now at least, he appears to be staying in Chicago.
JOHNNY ODUYA
Apparently, he has shown some willingness to do a cap-friendly deal next summer to stay in Chicago. As a result, Oduya, also looks likely to remain in the Indianhead this season.
MICHAL ROZSIVAL AND KRIS VERSTEEG
The Hawks appear to be hoping for rebound seasons from these veterans as they approach free agency next season.
NICK LEDDY
Leddy is allegedly being shopped, as is . . .
BRYAN BICKELL
Eastern Conference teams are the likely destination.
GOALIES
A separate source, informed me yesterday the Hawks/Ice Hogs might be looking for a "just in case" veteran to stash in Rockford, not unlike Jason LaBarbera last season.
