The Devils opened their preseason with an encouraging 5-4 win over the Rangers, and will be looking to build on that tonight against another rival in the Flyers.
While their performance against New York was solid, they certainly made some mistakes that need correcting
The hope is they don't repeat those miscues tonight while dressing a more established lineup.

What to watch:
- The Cammalleri - Zajac - Jagr line will see game action together for the first time. Reports from practice have been encouraging, and their styles should compliment each other nicely. Now all that's left to do is prove it.
- Scott Gomez will be playing in his first game as a Devil since 2006-07. He's a long shot to make the team, especially if the Devils want to use Zajac, Patrik Elias and Adam Henrique down the middle, so he needs to be at his best.
- Reid Boucher was excellent against the Rangers with Henrique and Michael Ryder. It'll be interesting to see how he performs with lesser talent when he's relied upon more to create offense.
- Eric Gelinas and Adam Larsson played well as a pairing against New York. If they continue to do so they could become a regular pairing on the Devils backend this season.
- Cory Schneider will be making his first start since signing his long-term extension. Obviously the game doesn't matter much, but he'll be looking to prove his worth right from the get go.
