Game notes:
- Reid Boucher will make his debut playing on the left side of Adam Henrique and Michael Ryder. It was a small sample size, but the Devils generated 60% of the shot attempts in 60 minutes of 5 vs 5 when Boucher and Henrique were together last year. Boucher obviously has a lot more speed than Clowe, and with him on that line there's a real good shot on both sides of Henrique, who can also score. That's tough to defend.
- Pittsburgh's league-best power play is clicking at 40% right now, and the Devils are killing off penalties at less than a 70% clip. If the Devils don't stay disciplined, especially with the way their PK is playing, they're going to get blown out.
- Damon Severson has more than held his own on the top pairing this season, and has already played against the likes of Steven Stamkos, Alex Ovechkin, Claude Giroux, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. For my money Sidney Crosby is the best of the group, so it'll be interesting to see how he handles himself tonight.
- After a couple mediocre starts, Cory Schneider has posted a .944SV% in his last two games while helping the Devils collect three of four points. He'll have to be good again tonight against a team that futures three players (Crosby, Malkin and Hornqvist) averaging over a point per game.
