What to watch:

1) Obviously Pete Harold's early game injury factored in, but New Jersey's young blue liners were spoon fed minutes last night. Jon Merrill played almost 28 and was on for 10 even-strength scoring chances for and just four against, while Adam Larsson played over 26 minutes and came out about even in possession despite limited offensive zone starts. The Devils are 11 points out and have played five more games than the Rangers so it's time to give the kids significant minutes.

2) The Devils will have their hands full trying to stop Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek tonight. Both of them are averaging well over a point per game and can beat you with their shot or their passing abilities, so New Jersey will need to play them tight and stay disciplined so they don't get extra time/space on the power play.

3) Jaromir Jagr seems open to a trade so if he can up his production a little bit between now and the deadline the return should only get bigger. He had an assist and a game-high four scoring chances at even-strength last night.
